This special issues presents education research that, in different ways, studies stories and storytelling. With this introduction I want, besides presenting the five contributions, to present narrative analysis as an interesting approach in education research as it makes possible studies of education processes as lived experience in ways few other approaches can (Clandinin & Rosiek, 2006). The text begins with a reflection on how narrative analysis can contribute to education researh, followed by a presentation of the five contributions to this special issue. Then i discuss two general themes within narrative research that the five contributions touch upon in different ways. The themes are narrative and experience followed by narrative and identity.
