Some remarks on the logistic equation
Abstract
The logistic differential equation is usually seen as a cornerstone when modelling intraspecific competition. In this talk we discuss different ways to derive this equation and what
underlying assumptions make the use of the logistic equation appropriate. We also give
examples for when a logistic assumption is not appropriate and explain why.
