Social work with victim of human traffficking in Vietnam

Abstract

Currently, the situation of human trafficking is complicated. Victims of human trafficking come from different gender, ages, education levels, ethnicity, etc. The consequences of human trafficking have a strong impact not only on the victims but also on their families and the whole society. Social work plays an important role in supporting victims of human trafficking in Vietnam. In this article, the author wants to present the situation of human trafficking in Vietnam; the victims' challenges; the role of social workers in assisting victims of trafficking; and the principles and methods of intervention to assist victims.
