Abstract

Creating Automotive Renewal (CAR) project aims at sharing knowledge and promoting electric mobility in the European Union, South Baltic region. As a part of the project Gdansk University of Technology has developed a pilot setup for testing amenability of materials obtained from lithium-ion batteries to direct recycling and enrichment.
The presentation will focus on contribution of lithium-ion batteries processing to the development of the circular economy. In particular, Li-ion batteries composition, recycling options and recycling techniques will be addressed. The presentation will refer to recently established recycling laboratory at GUT, within the CAR project.
